Wordwrap updates:
- There's a new "Bio" setting, and the text that you put there will be displayed at the top of your landing page.
- Your replies pages (both "made" and "received") now each have their own RSS feeds.
- Since we're using a Mastodon-compatible API that works great with plenty of non-Mastodon services, I've updated the various Mastodon references to reflect "Fediverse" and "Mastodon-compatible" where appropriate.
Up next:
- Optional email notifications for replies made on Wordwrap.
Hah, thanks! I think we're just about feature complete at this point, except for optional email notifications on replies. Hoping to get that in place tonight.
Wordwrap now supports embedding your journal entries on other web pages. I've added a section on the About page covering the process and configuration. (It's really easy!)
Eventually, yeah! I just have to finish a few features (email notifications being one) and wrap up testing, as well as do a proper announcement for it. (I have other pending stuff that I need to add to the dashboard too! 😬)
Wordwrap is a social journaling tool, though the social element is completely optional. You can make it fully social, or not social at all, or something in between on an entry-by-entry basis.
It emphasizes plain text journaling. Don't worry about HTML. Don't worry about Markdown. Just write. It preserves your whitespace,
so
you
can
do
stuff like this. Unabashedly.
Just like on paper. 📄
Wordwrap sits in a space somewhere between status.lol and weblog.lol. The Statuslog is a place for quick status updates, and weblog.lol is a full blogging tool. There’s plenty of overlap across these tools, and everyone approaches blogging/journaling differently, but Wordwrap is intended to be a journal and nothing more. 🌈⭐️
